Polymorph - How To
Written by Darkdominion

This is a basic guide to using the Shapeshifter skill "Polymorph" to greatest effect. Polymorph is an amazing skill. When used properly, it can take down tech, solo kill garrisons, demolish spawn portals, or wipe out a whole squad of unsuspecting healers.

When using Polymorph there are a number of factors to consider.

1) Are there any Electric Eyes? This is the most important question. Eyes see through polymorph, putting a big red circle on your unit and letting Steam turrets and Towers attack you.

The first question, what has been the trend of Eyes in this game so far? Some games they're like dandelions, fields and fields of Eyes as far as the eye can see (pun intended). In others, they show up rarely, or not at all. If you've seen tons of Eyes, you might want to pre-killing all the Eyes before your spawn, or simply not Polymorphing at all.

Before Polymorphing, kill any electric eyes in the area. While morphed, kill any eyes you see ASAP. I usually target eyes before even other players while morphed. If you get caught fighting someone, position the fight so you hit both the eye and the guy at the same time. This is important. First off, it may prevent backup from joining your opponent, second, it may confuse enemy healers into healing YOU instead of your enemy.

2) Are there other people around? If you're planning on morphing, make sure no one is watching. Obviously, if you morph right in front of those 3 angry Legos running your way, they'll probably figure it out. Look around to make sure the coast is clear before morphing. In large battles, you can usually morph while people are watching, just make sure you run in some circles/behind some buildings after to throw off anyone watching you, shell game style.

3) Choose your target wisely. To put it bluntly, always choose to morph into the worst player on the enemy team. Most people won't question Captain Dumbass running the wrong way and swinging wildly at buildings. On the other hand, most people on a team will recognize and look for the 200SF superstar of their team, and might realize something is amiss.

If Captain Dumbass isn't available, it is also a good choice to target a healer. Its not unusual for a healer to run away from combat, or hang around other players. If Captain Dumbass IS a healer, well, thats just the money spot.

Another excellent choice is the builder, especially if you want to use this morph to attack buildings. Besides the fact the the unit is already small and hard to see, its expected for you to hang around buildings.

Marksman can be a good or a bad choice for one reason: Its attack patterns sync up with your own. While morphed you still retain the 4 hit attack, even if you attack animation doesn't reflect this. Thus it can be helpful to you if you can see your attacks.

But it can also confuse your enemy if your hits and animation don't match up. Its really your call.

NEVER Polymorph into a Lego. They're big, easy to spot, and terribly obvious if they start attacking their own buildings/units.

4) Abuse enemy healers. You're injured, you Polymorph. Oh look, 3 enemy healers. Try running up to them and standing around in front of them being obviously injured. Chances are one of them will throw you a heal. It is also hilariously ironic for someone to heal you to full, then for you kill them from behind. Makes for a good laugh.

5) Finally, consider your SP. If you're only at half SP when you Polymorph, you might not have enough to sustain it for the duration of the skill. Considering the long cooldown on it, you may want to wait for a mana font or your next spawn before using it.

Nice Tips,
but what if i have to spot a polymorphed enemy ?
Some time ago, i
polymorphed 5 times in a really huge battle (AND i took care of distance, and i
didn´t attack someone). But i died 5/5.
I just ran through the battle, and 3
enemies started killing me....
I didn´t see any eyes...

So my Question:
Is
there any trick ?!

actually i have a question, if u are not a officer and u polymorph and can be
seen by and eye does the aura on the floor appear (i havnt polyed in
awhile)
this works for marksman btw, if u stealth and see a blue ring under
you....u can be seen.

as for poly, if i get killed and someone polymorphs me, i
will inform the team to kill "me" in NE or wherever i am...so dnt poly
me u will be killed =)
